Yajna For All Humanity

Sanjay Kishore Dadlani
Middlesex University Student Residing In The UK

They hypocrisy never ends with Sanay Dadlani, the Anti-Sai clown. Just recently, Sanjay decided to get up on his soap-box and preach about the benefits of Japa (chanting the name of God) on the SSB2 Yahoo Group (as if he is a resplendent example of the benefits wraught by its performance)! Sanjay said:
But let us put all of that aside (for now) and concentrate on the concept of the yajna itself. In this connection I'd like to present an important scriptural verse:

kRte yad dhyAyato viSNuM tretAyAM yajato makhaiH dvApare paricaryAyAM kalau tad dhari-kIrtanAt BhP 12.3.52
"That, which was attained during Krita through meditation on Vishnu, during Treta through the worship of sacrificial oblations and during Dvapara through temple worship, is attained during Kali through Hari-kirtana."

For those who are unfamiliar, traditional Hindu periodisation divides time into four eras (yugas), each marked by a increased decay in morality, righteousness and general standards of civilisation. According to this view, we are currently in the last and worst (Kali) age. The import of this verse shows that in the Krita-yuga (aka 'Satya-yuga') meditation on Vishnu was the recommended path to perform in order to attain God-realisation. The next Treta-yuga found itself following the principles of Vedic fire sacrifices (yajnas) to achieve the same purpose. Further decline in the Dvapara-yuga necessitated the replacement of yajna-performance with deity-worship in the temples. And now that we are in the worst age where it is extremely difficult to perform any of these processes to the fullest standards of perfection that they entail, it is recommended that the chanting of God's name is sufficient.

One should note that this verse and it's contents are a familiar concept to many practicing Hindus and is widely prevalent in many traditional philosophies and religious organisations. This verse and others of a similar nature have been oft-quoted by many spiritual teachers including Sai Baba.

One wonders, then, why does the Baba initiate the performance of these yajnas every few years or so? What possible purpose can this achieve when the current climate is unsuitable for yajna-performance? Anybody who knows anything about yajnas will be able to confirm that the activity requires an extremely high standard of concentration and exacting demand. And given that Sai Baba has quoted the above verse and similar ones frequently in his discourses, one may also wonder why he is wilfully practicing what he preaches, NOT!

How is it that no devotee objects to this? How is it that no devotee has enough critical thinking to contemplate these matters and see how Sai Baba is such an obvious clown, if not an outright hypocrite? The Baba has for years been claiming that he has advented for the purpose of restoring Vedic values and the authority of the scriptures, you'd be forgiven for thinking that he was actually engaged in these tasks! Yes, the performance of yajnas may very well be a 'Vedic' activity but of what use are they in an age where their performance is not recommended and whereby the chanting of the Holy Name is supposed to be the bestower of everything?

And as if to confirm this, I almost forgot this choice line from the Bhagavad-Gita:

yajJAnAM japa-yajJo 'smi
"Of yajna-sacrifices, I am the yajna of japa." [BG 10.25]

Well, there you have it. Japa is a by-word for the chanting of the holy name, and thus this is the only "yajna sacrifice" that is recommended for this age. If Sai Baba and/or his devotees were truly interested in the import of the scriptures that they claim to be restoring and practicing, why do they not pay attention to these very basic and simple points? Everything that they are concerned about can be solved by following the recommended practice of nama-japa (chanting the names), namasmarana (remembering the names), and so forth.

This issue is itself a pointer for people to wonder if the "Avatar" really knows what he's doing.

If chanting the "Holy Name" of God is so potent, one is left to wonder why Japa hasn't effected any positive or perceptive change in Sanjay Dadlani. As a matter of fact, Sanjay has only become more bitter, angry, hateful, twisted, and perverted with the passage of time (even with an admission from Sanjay himself).

It is also notable to point out that neither Christians, Jews or Muslims (comprising the majority of religious adherents) "chant" the name of God in japa style. As a matter of fact, Matthew 6:5-7 states:
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking (Reference).

Funny enough, this is exactly what Sanjay's Hare Krishna Gurus advise, i.e., to stand on the corners of streets and chant the name of God out loud, using repetitive mantras, hoping they will heard for their loud preaching. As a matter of fact, one of the distinguishing (and often annoying) displays by the Hare Krishna's is their public chantings frenzies where they chant the Maha Mantra in a theatrical way. Sanjay uses the internet as his pulpit in which he garbles about the benefits of Japa (all the while oozing and reeking of disingenuousness and hypocrisy). I think Sanjay should seriously consider practicing Yagna as Japa hasn't helped his lamentable condition whatsoever.

Sanjay loves to point his pudgy fingers at Sathya Sai Baba and whine about Baba's alleged failure to practice what he preaches. The only problem with Sangay's criticism is that he thoroughly fails to practice what he preaches. Sanjay (the hypocritical Japa preacher) has been fully exposed for his StreetBitches Blog, his Jesus Sex Fetish, his views on Child And Teen Pornography, his self-admitted Psychological Problems, his Disturbing Views About Women, his self-admitted Drinking Problems, his Satanic Inclinations, his Shocking Confessions, his Long And Established History As A Pathological Liar, his outward Denial Of His Own Hare Krishna Guru - Srila Prabhupada, his public Lie About Meeting Aghori Vimalananda, his Homoeroticism And Gender Confusion, his Inability To Keep A Girlfriend, his Pseudo-Devotee Posturing, his He-Man Inspired God Concept, his Lies About Being A Vegetarian, his weird claim that He Was Dying, his amusing Belief That Semen Can Be Sucked Up From The Testicles, Via The Spine, To The Brain and his Suicidal And Self-Injurious Statements.

This is the guy who is preaching about the benefits of chanting the holy names of God! Apparently, either Sanjay hasn't chanted the names of God enough or he hasn't reaped any of the alleged benefits of Japa. Either way, Sanjay is a rut. Sanjay should keep his big mouth shut so he won't keep embarassing himself (and the Anti-Sai Movement he tries so hard to defend) with his effete negativism and disingenuous extremism.

It is also important to point out that although Sathya Sai Baba sponsers these Yajna events, the daily program at Baba's ashram includes Bhajans (devotional hymns) twice daily. Baba also encourages his adherents to perform heart-felt, internal and constant rememberance (japa) of God (Reference). Sanjay is attempting to make it sound like Sathya Sai Baba only promotes yagnas. This couldn't be further from the truth.

Therefore, Sanjay's entire yipping criticism of Sathya Sai Baba is amusing, revealing and wholly without effect.

    Dear Brother,
I would like to add one more point here. SWAMI gives utmost importance to Nama Smarana and thats why we have Bhajans twice a day for the past 60+ yrs. Apart from the AKAND Bhajans and Nagarsankeertans....

    Regards,
